From the Trevor O’Neil for Anaheim City Council campaign:
Trevor O’Neil Solidifies Status as Clear Front-Runner for Anaheim City Council, District 6
Raises $100,000 with 12 Weeks Before Election
Anaheim Hills, California – Small Business Owner Trevor O’Neil is solidifying his position as the clear front-runner for the Anaheim City Council District 6 seat representing Anaheim Hills. As candidate filing closed, O’Neil cleared the $100,000 mark in campaign fundraising for his race to represent Anaheim Hills on the City Council.
Even before the additional funds came in, O’Neil held a firm lead in campaign funds. In the latest campaign finance reports filed last month, O’Neil showed more cash-on-hand than both of his opponents combined, with 53% more cash-on-hand than the Democrat in the race and 121% more cash-on-hand than the second opponent in the race. During the same reporting period, O’Neil raised 40% more than his nearest opponent.
“I am committed to my team walking all of Anaheim Hills before absentee ballots arrive,” O’Neil said. “I will make sure every Anaheim Hills voter hears from my campaign about my vision for Anaheim, and we use any means of communication available to reach them.”
O’Neil has already earned the endorsements of Congresswoman Mimi Walters and Assemblyman Steven Choi, Ph.D., who both represent Anaheim District 6. O’Neil has earned the endorsements of more current and former Anaheim Councilmembers than both of his opponents combined. He is also endorsed by Andrea Yamasaki, the only school board member residing in Anaheim District 6.
A small business owner who has spent his entire career in the private sector, Trevor O’Neil and his wife raised their children in Anaheim Hills, where they have lived for more than 20 years. An active community leader, Trevor serves on the Board of Directors of the Orange County Taxpayers Association and as Vice Chairman of the Orange Unified School District Bond Oversight Committee. A former Anaheim City Commissioner, Trevor volunteers for the Anaheim Hills Community Council and supports the Canyon High School Foundation and the Anaheim Boys and Girls Club.
District 6 encompasses Anaheim Hills. O’Neil’s opponents in the race are Grant Henninger, an urban planner who has been endorsed by the Democratic Party of Orange County, and Patty Gaby, an unknown who was recruited to run several weeks ago by Mayor Tom Tait. Gaby supports the repeal of the current prohibition of a gate tax on visitors to the Disneyland Resort.
