Anaheim Elementary Schools Superintendent To Become Vista Schools Chief

Anaheim Elementary School District Superintendent Linda Kimble (formerly Wagner) is leaving to become superintendent of the Vista Unified School District in north San Diego County.

Vista Unified announced on November 8 that Kimble “had been named superintendent” of the district, which has 29 schools serving 22,000 students.

The announcement stated the VUSD Board of Education was “expected to approve the appointment at its next meeting” – which would have been November 14. While that didn’t come to pass, her appointment is on the Board’s agenda for December 7.

Kimble has been superintendent of AESD – one of the lowest performing school district’s in the county – since 2012. In recent years, she has faithfully and ruthlessly carried out the AESD Board of Education’s war on the Palm Lane Elementary School parents’ who have spent the last three years fighting to convert their school into an independent public charter school. During Kimble’s tenure, the district has systematically sought to undermine those parents’ effort to exercise their rights under the state Parent Empowerment Law – including the expenditure of nearly $1 million on futile litigation against their parents’ charter conversion efforts.

In an e-mail to AESD staff on Saturday, December 2, Kimble downplayed what Vista Unified presents as a done deal:

Progressive Political Indoctrination
More recently, Kimble hired a left-wing identity politics advocacy group – Asian Americans Advancing Justice – to provide senior district staff with cultural sensitivity training. Illustrative of this group’s ideology are Twitter posts equating Thanksgiving Day with celebrating genocide, and making the Texas church massacre about “White Men” and “their access to weapons of mass slaughter.” Anyone want to guess what kind of cultural sensitivity training this group imparts?

It’s unclear when Kimble will start her new job. Six days after the VUSD Board of Education presumably confirms her appointment, the AESD Board of Education votes on the Palm Lane Elementary parents’ choice of charter school operator. If Superintendent Kimble is still on the job on December 13, we shall see if she and the AESD Board members will continue waging war on those parents, or if they’ll decide to respect them and approve their choice.

  1. One, socialist down and more to go next year – Inshallah! If Sensativity Training is to remain on the “to do list”, Mx. Kimble’s decision will stand. If she is hired by VESD, consultation with the interim AESD Superintendent should be scheduled ASAP to close the loop on contracting AAAJ, to be let loose to push their zealous agenda of anti-American
malevolance towards multiculturalism, onto our teachers and administrators. Any contractor that perpetuates an insulting interpretation of Thanksgiving, a great day of celebration for one’s Creator’s blessings upon us – need to be disinvited to pollute further, the institutions of Anaheim.

  2. Unstableheim School District! Brain drain!

  3. Congratulations Linda! This is a blessing for her and I am sure she will be able to make a significant positive impact in vista. Unfortunately for Linda and the students in the Anaheim Elementary school district the local politics were a huge problem. She has limited power to lead in own way due to the toxic political environment that jose moneno, mike matsuda, al jabbar and ryan rueles have created. She was never their pick and they under cut her at every turn. Both school boards are puppets controlled by jose moreno. Those who are not familiar with school boards should know that they can be completely unqualified but hold complete power over the superientendent. I know its popular to trash her by association, but have friends that have worker with her all rave about her class and integrity.

  4. Good riddence. Jose Morenos puppet is on to ruin another district. Facts are facts. Look at her long history.
What district that she has been superintendent cries because she is leaving? NOT ONE! Hey Vista why would you hire a woman who lost a school? Who does that? My friends are so excited that she is leaving but not before informing all district employees that they must make sacrifices but not before “rats” start jumping ship. Linda Wagner or Kimble (the name change is also suspect) will go down as the worst superindent of Anaheim City. I don’t know many people who would associate class and integrity with Linda Kimble or Jose Moreno.

  5. Dr. Linda Wagner-Kimble was put in administrative leave from Vista Unified this last week. Less than 2 years in our district. While she did bring in more music programming and helped to pass a bond, her time here was so tumultuous to say the least. The entire district was divided over every single issue. She fired assistant principals, attempted to close schools without Board direction, insulted parents at every turn, and continually worked against the community. Nothing was ever her fault — it was always the Board was out to get her her, parents were out to ger her, or it was already screwed up. She took responsibility for nothing. Our administrators were nervous for two years and teachers felt like we were stalling.

Our district has challenges similar to other districts. She is in no way qualified to lead. She self-admits she is not comfortable with budget, and she does nothing to inspire those around her.

It’s interesting to read comments on her past. Seems her present mirrors past actions.

  6. Vista Unified Watcher

I’m happy to update from Vista…she has been terminated. She came in and immediately started her radical agenda, trying to dissolve an established magnet priority system because it benefited too many white students in her opinion and instigated racial divisions by doing so.
