More #MeToo: Anaheim Mayoral Candidate Lorri Galloway Accuses Orange Juice Blog Publisher of Sexual Assault

#MeToo in OC has veered in a new direction as former Anaheim City Councilwoman Lorri Galloway, a Democrat running for Anaheim mayor in 2018, took to Facebook to publish an allegation she was sexually assaulted six years ago by the publisher of the Orange Juice Blog, a local progressive political site that is markedly inclined toward making politics personal.

Galloway’s post was published at about noon today (October 23, 2017):

Lorri Galloway metoo Vern Nelson FB 10-23-17

Although Galloway doesn’t name the publisher in her post, Orange Juice Blog founding publisher and editor Art Pedroza sold his blog to Vern Nelson in late 2010 or early 2011; he is still its owner and publisher.  OC Daily has reached out to Nelson via e-mail requesting comment on this Facebook post.

  1. Mayor Pro Tem Lorri Galloway is a very brave woman!

  2. Bravo Candidate Galloway thank you for setting an example. This is way more common than most know. Disclosing this took courage.

  3. This is news to me. I ceased blogging for the Juice shortly after Art Pedroza transferred ownership and never heard this tale before.

  4. Ms. Galloway. You’ve some nuts brining this up now. I bet an hilbelly with a sixth-grade education could spot the true intent of surfacing your assault experience at this particular time.

You realize that the fervor over Hollywood’s actresses whom, like you, tried to quietly close the loop on their failure to report highly successful Hollywood predators, have been rooted out of silence by the events of the last two weeks. Your passivity makes you a big target of opportunity for those looking to slide their candidate into a better position for success.

I guess you know all this, don’t you. Maybe you should have waited until after the election to take your beating from all the man haters and liberal activists gunning for women like you. Although I believe your intention to come clean now was a calculated self-serving act of desperation, I have a sense that your the fresh air that Anaheim needs.

Fortunately for you, there are a lot of folks that could care less if you ever spoke-up. Either way, you’ll need to prove your tough enough to no longer be an abettor to creepy men and to square-off with guy’s who may look at you as a weakling.

My bottom line is, I intend to support your bid for Mayor and will seize every opportunity to cultivate votes for you. Let’s hope that folks will have a short memory and that this incident falls by the wayside of life. Good Luck Ms. Galloway, I’m rooting for you.I

  5. Some Daze are Diamonds

Holy crap. Read Greg Diamonds comments on the LiberalOC as he defends Nelson’s lecherous behavior.

  7. I photo copied the posts on my iPad. Ha Ha!

  8. Some Daze are Diamonds

See TheLiberalOC. He says Vern was a lech.

  9. I am in favor of Ms. Galloway coming out with this information. Anyone who can come out and share stories about these types of encounters at this time while it is in the forefront of the media is helping get the message out that this is unacceptable and by doing so now will have a bigger impact for change.

Even my sister for example wrote a story on facebook as to something that none of us knew about that happened to her and she did so because of the timing of this movement. Its a movement.

By doing so these women are ultimately helping the rest of us teach our sons and protect our daughters because they are forcing us in a good way to talk about this and learn from this.

By the way it is my opinion that anyone who even remotely justifies this kind of conduct on this blog or the others or provides implied excuses all I can say is just stop writing! There is no excuse. There is no justification.

Did Ms Galloway encourage this? Take a look at Ms. Galloway. She is attractive, intelligent and classy and take a look at Vern….well… he is not. I rest my case. Sorry Vern.

I hope there is going to be an apology and some type of atonement. Period.
