La Habra Councilman Tim Shaw Takes First Step Toward 29th Senate District Candidacy

Two-term La Habra City Councilman Tim Shaw has taken the first step toward running for the 29th Senate District seat currently held by termed-out Sen. Bob Huff (who is rumored to be looking at a run for the 5th District seat on the LA County Board of Supervisors currently held by termed-out Supervisor Mike Antonovich).  In addition to his service on the La Habra City Council, Shaw is district director for Huff, a member of the OCTA Board of Directors, and elected member of the Republican Party of Orange County Central Committee.

SD29 is reliably Republican and straddles Orange and Los Angeles counties; on the OC side, it includes the cities of Fullerton, La Habra, Brea, Yorba Linda, Stanton, La Palma, Cypress, and west and north Anaheim.  Shaw is young, a family man, conservative, well-liked in Republican Party circles and a hard worker. It’s unlikely he will be the only candidate for the seat, but he’ll be a formidable one.

Stay tuned…
