District 5 Councilman Steve Faessel is hosting a community meeting this evening to talk about the newly-opened Bridges at Kraemer Homeless Shelter.
The meeting is tonight, May 16 at 5:30 p.m. at Lamb of God Lutheran Church, 621 Sunkist Avenue in Anaheim. Click here for the meeting flyer.
Faessel will be joined by 3rd District Supervisor Todd Spitzer, Anaheim Police Chief Raul Quezada and Larry Haynes, the executive director of Mercy House, which will be operating the shelter.
The Kraemer Shelter began a phased opening earlier this month, with 100 beds available on an appointment-only basis. The remaining 100 beds and the full-suite of services will be online by next year. Clients will be found via Mercy House outreach efforts and can stay up to 90-days or until transitioned to permanent housing. The Kraemer Shelter is essentially designed for the homeless who no longer want to be homeless and are willing to make the effort and make the changes necessary to achieve self-reliance.
